Our People Are Our Mountains

Thank you to everyone who made it down to Atlas Cinema in June , the event was completely sold out and it felt truly special to host a screening showing such an important and poignant film Xaraasi Xaane (Crossing Voices).  We managed to raise over £200 which has gone to supporting Bouba Touré’s archive. We can’t wait to host more screenings, if you have a space that can accommodate this, holla at us!

As promised we will be continuing to be in conversation about themes from the film at our first ever study club which will now take place on Friday 11th July from 3-5pm at the garden.

Our People Are Our Mountains is a radical reading club which engages with films, texts and materials that interrogate and explore themes of land & environmental justice, food sovereignty, social movements and liberation. We aim to create a space for collective learning, watching films, reading and sharing stories and experiences, to connect to resistance practices and build solidarity across struggles.

There will be a selection of texts for us all to collectively read through and be in conversation, there will also be space for reflective writing - so bring a notepad to take notes in.

We look forward to collectively learning together and being in this dreaming space with you.
