Join us for Cooking with Spices: As Medicine + Decolonisation with Marianna Farag

Spices carry wisdom - of flavour, survival, tradition, and medicine. In the kitchen, they serve as both flavour and function, something many ancestral food cultures have always understood. And despite centuries of colonial influence, this knowledge persists- each richly spiced dish a continuation of inherited wisdom and cultural depth, but also an unapologetic quiet resistance.

Join us at Earth Tenders on Saturday 19th July at 11AM - 2PM for a vibrant one-day Food Curious session where we’ll cook intuitively with whatever the garden offers and explore the rich knowledge that communities shaped by colonial histories have long held around spices and food. Through bold ingredients and open conversation, we’ll reflect on how spice reminds us of that cultural wealth - and how much of that wisdom still lives on, hundreds of years later.

Please bring a reusable water bottle + bring a notebook if you’d like to take notes. Honouring time is important to us, please try to arrive on time for us to start together. Spaces are limited, so only reserve a spot if you're confident you can join. If you need to cancel, please give us 24-48 hours’ notice so we can offer the space to someone else.

See you on the land!
