Gathering with cloth, we stitch new worlds into being. Join us in the garden to make a community banner for Earth Tenders – no sewing experience needed. We draw on rich traditions of community banner and quilt making, finding power and solace in the collective art of making. We will walk the garden together, to gain inspiration from the bountiful colours and textures of the land and its harvest. We will create patches capturing the beauty of our plant and animal kin, to sew on to the banner.
This banner is our love letter to the garden.
For this session, we will be led by Yuna.
Yuna researches and creates around a constellation of subjects spanning climate change, ecological justice, intergenerational movements and time travelling imaginaries. Exploring through words, cloth and collective making.
