Land-Body-Minds Meeting brings together three London-based grassroots collectives run by Black and People of Colour, LION (Land In Our Names), Earth Tenders and misery medicine, with an aim to share learnings and grow solidarity between three distinct but allied contributions to the land, health and racial justice movement.
Our open air venue, Phytology medicinal garden, is an ‘urban physic garden’ set within Bethnal Green Nature Reserve.
After a sharing session chaired by Technē researcher and artist Shama Khanna and a shared meal, there will be the option of reflecting on our learnings through creative writing, drawing and collage making with writer and researcher Sonji Shah, who is also part of misery, before drawing the event to a close.
Bodyminds study group is a creative exploration of theory by researchers, artists and writers Shama Khanna and Sonji Shah.
'Land-Body-Minds Meeting' is explicitly aimed at centering Black and People of Colour (BPOC) participants and experience, but all are welcome.
'Land-Body-Minds Meeting' is supported by Technē and convened by Shama Khanna with support from Carmem Saito and Tom Railton.
